Title: the Champion of the Templars
Gender: Female
Level: 43
Class: elf paladin

Background history:

Description:

A somewhat terrifying image at first glance, this elvish looking lady does not seem bothered by the stares and looks that she draws. The object of all that attention stems from her skin - bright red like that of a spider lily in full bloom. Her snow-white hair is pulled back and tied in a thick ponytail with a pair of side-locks draping loosely down to her collarbones. Protruding from her exposed forehead is a pair of dagger-like horns pointing to the heavens, though one of them seems to be missing the top half. Though lacking any irises, she seems to be able to see clearly with her pure white eyes. Rows of earrings line the edges of her elvish ears, clinking and clanking rhythmically as she moves about gracefully. While seemingly thin and stick-like, on closer inspection, she seems to be quite well-muscled for someone small-boned as her.

I liked your desc. Was looking forward to how you would filter elven paladin rp through this lens.
    1. I love creating characters that don't fit their race/class stereotypes but sadly, I seem to have more interest in writing descriptions and sometimes, backgrounds than playing the game. Things seem to get stale after solace/blood shamans.

Doesn't help that my play time is usually when no one is around so I basically get the whole realm to myself most days so my PvE is pretty decent but my PK and RP suck and never improves.

I'm interested in hearing more about this stuff you said about the game getting stale after blood shamans. Isn't that level 50 pk range? i.e. when you would start making allies, go to winter, get rared out, etc. could you try joining a cabal if you want more PK'ing ? I may be out of touch, but that range seems like it opens up new possibilities, especially end game . If we generally thik AR has a dissatisfying end game its something I can throw some time at.

@Skarlette, I think that might be a common feeling. Writing/rolling a char is one of my favorite aspects of AR because that moment is so alive with possibility. Unfortunately my desire to make these chars is readily eclipsed by the limited time I have to play them. I like to think that the ones that are supposed to stick will and the rest are just sharpening my claws.

I hear what you're saying about your play time not aligning with the base though. Dav is right that endgame presents lots of opportunities for fun and mayhem, but sometimes finding a group to get from 40 to 50 can be a challenge, especially when surges are not convenient to your schedule.

I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for your next one. Good luck.
    4. Actually Dav, it is around the lvl 40-42 range. Like voidwitch said, it is quite a bit of waiting to find people to hunt with and it's not fun to suck at PK while level 50s are in range at that level (not that it makes much difference to me tbh lmao, I just die slightly slower at 50). I also tried different cabals for a while back during Covid but it is hard to stay active and contribute to the cabal. Though it is probably a 'me problem' rather than it being an 'endgame problem' seeing that I haven't had a lvl 50 in a few years.

If Dav makes gnome or slith monks a thing I’ll park one at 40 just to power level people from 32-48

Well just speaking to what you guys wrote there. I know its hard to stay active and contribute to a cabal, and you really can't expect other people to do that for you either. They are gonna burn out on AR trying to always keep the engine running while they wait for your login.

maybe we could do some sort of big game hunting challenge allowed every 2-3 hours which gives a decent exp and loot reward for the entire group, with the cabal char just heading it up. I was thinking offered at level 40 for 1500 xp per participant. So like, knights get assigned to crusade kill mobs that are evils, legions get a bounty to collect (probably targetting lawfuls), warlords get issued a challenge against some fantastic beast. the tasks could end up picking the same areas and cause a bunch of 50s to have a run-in. the knight one could have a squire mob join for ez mode. I wouldnt mind having a level 40 zerker parked to help wreck these mobs, and it would be funny to watch people try to help Legion and end up betrayed

Those all sound like great ideas. I think it would be cool if starting around 35-38 you have a massive xp reward for doing mysterious. It would be cool to be able to progress a character meaningfully in your solo hours with nobody on by exploring and learning the landscape

Blatantly wrong. This is a substantial upgrade.
    3. It was actually originally Scute, but too many damn Herpetologists on the imm staff holding me back from living my best life.
