A Scrolls in the Sands
The scroll you find is bound between two beautiful rollers made of metallic bronze, with the end-caps wrapped in a smooth light-brown leather. As you unravel the scroll to read its contents, the top of the page is marked with a seal: a three-headed serpent on a shield with two spears crossed behind it. The handwriting is elegant, written in a crimson ink with flourishes on every stemmed letter. "To think... I would stoop to record the events that have transpired. But scrolls have the benefit of longevity, and will outlast my spoken word, which at the moment has little weight... I am Sylac Bronzescale, the Sun Prince, heir to the Swavelinia, or as you Serins call them, the Sands of Sorrow. But I have been robbed of my inheritance, only for the crime of doing what I could to save my people. My father, capable a warrior as he was, fell in battle against the Ogre Tribes. Though it would besmirch my honor, I made a tactical retreat to regather our forces. Green around the gills, it is custom for the Swaveli to not crown a King who has not won a battle. So, I set to planning. It did not take a master of war to see we were outnumbered and outmatched beyond hope. My people, proud as we are, shun the use of magic... But I saw little other options to save them. I sought out what powerful magics I could learn that would destroy my enemies, whatever the cost may be. It was not long before my eyes came across the name of a being who prides themselves on utter domination of their opponents. I set my best seers to the task of attempting to reach out to this being, to see what aid they could provide for us. Alas, just prior to finishing the forbidden ritual, we were caught... And banished from the Swavelinia. In my Exile, I have learned the terrible weight behind the name 'Thorgoth the Conqueror'. But the knowledge I sought and acquired has bound me to him. Nonetheless, I seek to restore my honor among my people. By my blood, I have sworn off the use of magic, so that it may never taint my mind or my body. I have trained my skills so that I will become worthy of the Halls of the Warlords. And with the Grandest title that their halls have to offer, I will return to my people, a proven warrior of honor and prowess. I only hope they live long enough to see that day... Sylac Bronzescale, The Sun Prince, Heir of the Swavelinia"

Description (commended):

The reptilian humanoid before you bares the nobility of dragon-kin. He stands tall and lean with guilded-bronze scales. Every fifth one or so appears light and discolored, as if sun-bleached. His attire and armor look well-fitted, accentuating the reptilian fluidity of his movements. His neck is long, with a posture so straight that it curves nearly backwards to support a regal-looking visage. The scaled lips are thin, barely concealing two rows of razor-sharp teeth that hook backwards. Large, curved, armored plates on either side of this creature's face span from his cheeks to his eyebrows. They extend almost six-inches back at a forty-five degree angle before ending in a fanned array of spiked bone. The top of his head is spotless, gleaming spectacularly as light passes overhead. His eyes are burnished-gold, with a single vertical slit for a pupil. These glowing orbs for eyes are regularly cleaned with two sets of eyelids that blink just out-of-phase with eachother.

  1. Sorry to see you go brother. The background is cool, desc is sweet. Enjoyed having you around.

Fights are tough sometimes. But practice is the best way to get better. Way to get in there and crack at it for awhile without giving up. I have played quite a few slith warriors myself and honestly I don't think they work. There's a reason no one really rolls them ever. Which is sad because until recently that's all they could be. Slith is a mistreated race that needs some love. But thats a different post

Keep at it man, can't wait to see your next one. I'm sure you'll apply what you learned and be ready to tear through some people.

      Record Siathanz
    2. I can't find a graveyard post for Siathanz. That was a slith, I'm guessing? Definitely a solid record. I didn't mean to say they're impossibly gimped. Certainly you can win with them, as some of the people who play this game are so good they can win with anything really. But the most of us, or at least me with my experience with slith warrior, are going to struggle. On paper they don't seem bad, but it's a tough race.

      Well done.

Did you ever use the shed thing and if so, what did you think of it?

About 10 years ago when I last played a slith, you could shed skin and it kept fighting so you could flee or return to the fight with your skin being targeted.

Errm.... yeah totally forgot about that when it counted lol most of the time when I was that close to death the tunnel vision of "kill or be killed" sets in. If I roll a slith again I'll keep it in mind.

Thanks for the kind words folks. I'll stake a claim to this one.

I made this character with a strong RP component in mind. However, I've definitely noticed that accomplishments in game and actions go hand-in-hand. Fights were definitely frustrating with this character. I think Thoom captured my feelings about it well. I definitely improved, and look forward to carrying that knowledge to other characters.

That being said, the thing I learned most about this character was how to hunt for rares using the Codex. I actually had a blast researching, finding the right combination of rares to give me some pretty decent hit/dam (25/45 at the end), and then go for it. Ultimately, the solo-component of this game is way better than I previously gave it credit for. I look forward to paying more attention to it for the next character :)

        Until next time, folks!

You think 25/45 is good? My best was 40/75. As a warrior you want your minimum hit roll to be 30 if fighting rogue/monk make it higher. Damage comes from your concentration and enhanced damage. Having more damage ive found really only makes you hit harder through aura. Hence why thoom hits so fucking hard being a giant in tenor. You want some serious warrior advice PM me ill tell you some stufffss
