The Fox and the Rabbit
Late one evening a young white rabbit was hopping around minding his own business looking for fresh food to eat, he had just discovered a new patch of grass and clovers he would be able to feed on for weeks. As the sun set and the darkness approached the young rabbit knew it was time to get back to the burrow. As he made his way back he heard a noise from within the forest. He started to pick up the pace as the sounds grew closer and closer, now at a dead sprint the young rabbit knew he was being chased. Out of the corner of his eye he seen a red fox, twice his size quickly gaining on him. The fox pounced and knocked the young rabbit onto his side. The rabbit exclaimed "what do you want fox?" The fox simply stood above the rabbit, a sly grin on his face. The fox let out loud screeching bark and stepped off the rabbit only to disappear into the forest. The young rabbit returned to his burrow very confused. This story represents what happened in Vahn's life. He was the fox and would do things only to prove he was faster or better than the other person. Only to prove to himself that he is capable of doing it.

Well for what it is worth, I was trying to change the atmosphere of healers, people keep thinking that they have to be Goody too-shoes and all holy and stuff. Vahn was anything but that. As a follower of Zafrin, Vahn always was attempting to cause some sort of chaos but honestly near the end I was getting so much criticism that I did not want to deal with it anymore. From rags to riches, then donating all that riches to the Knights and becoming a Noble, then back to the streets living a beggers life. If you did not notice Vahn was always asking everyone for money, especially the other goody folks who he knew would say yes.

I would like to apologize to Ozaru for that whole ranger thing. Sorry I kept killing you, but I did kill myself on you in the end there, it was before the dirt kick changes and with those changes you would have whooped my ass.

I deleted Vahn because it is time for me to play something else. He was my last level 50 I had left and now I am forced to make something new if I want to continue playing. Destiny is just so damn addicting!

First and foremost apology not accepted. You bring up the fact that you killed yourself on purpose to make up for you killing me over and over in the arena and looting my equipment go fuck yourself or vahn go fuck yourself. You disguise this chaos rp from a veil of just being a greedy insert cuss word here. YOU single handily ruined two of my characters, my evil ranger I can let that go because you are a healer even though you lied, but my neutral warlord fuck no. Players like you are the very reason why people stay away because who wants to deal insert worst thing you ever said as a 12 year old kid during counter strike because I am sure it was racist and homophobic.

There is a reason people think that. BECAUSE THEY ARE. A good healer trying to gank that neutral Justice with only the excuse that you're doing Zafrin's bidding is a joke. I have a feeling this guy would have been Outcast sooner rather than later.

I'll allow it. There is a difference between criticizing the player and criticizing the character but Ozaru is currently still in-bounds in my opinion because Vahn was intensely OOC, extra-especially in his interactions with Ozaru's characters. It didn't go unnoticed.

I honestly think you can talk about the character all you want, but if they BOTH had OOC dealings, then they both are to blame for the way it went down. Choose your friends carefully. Ozaru didn't toe a line, a jumped up and down on it. Don't create a rule that has bends in it, that isn't helping the atmosphere, it simply encourages creative ways of player bashing.

Also - If he chose to do something RP wise that stepped over the line, the Imms can step in and outcast him. There is absolutely nothing that says a Cleric can't be a zealot and interpret a neutral justice as protecting evil. That may not be what this character was trying to do, but for some reason in this game Goodies have to go around singing campfire songs and kissing peoples asses.

Some of my characters dug Vahn and others wanted to break his head. To that point, Zafrin's follower did well. Personally, I think a bit more RP interactions before attacking would have helped the criticism. That is really the only problem I saw with Vahn. Other then that, you showed people healers could kill. We needed this.

For the record, I don't know anyone outside of this game, I don't go to the irc chat room or have any outside deals with anyone here. It bugs me that I can't remember the thief that was a true follower of zafrin. That dude was wanted constantly never gave 2 fucks about the law and attacked anyone including fynth. Which Vahn never did, Fynth was actually there during the fight where he killed and looted my neutral warlord. If he was a true follower of zafrin and wanted chaos the easiest thing to do was attack a justice, but no he couldn't do that he would lose all his eq.

Vahn was a bitch with underhanded motives which had nothing to do with Zafrin. To give you perspective since you decided to make assumptions on what happened.

Vahn was deathmarked, the moment he logged on he would say hey you want to fight I know im deathmarked, but ill only fight you in the arena. For a ranger this is a death sentence because his whole rags to riches bullshit was crap since he was decked out from looting my shit before and the mino warlords shit.

If this guy was looking to rp his way into making an evil healer turn shaman then fine, but this was just an opportunistic bastard who wanted a titanium fullplate.

If I remember right, the specific instance was when he killed one of your characters in cold blood in the arena and looted, specifically because he knew it was you playing it. On its own it wouldn't be worth mentioning but there was a streak of other murders (I think he also killed at least one neutral ninja in cold blood). There were a few reasons I didn't get involved, including that it was partially your fault he could tell which character you were playing. It's also a matter of personal policy that I will rarely get involved in alignment related issues unless they relate to chaotic evils, to the undead, or to Legion in some way unless rules are blatantly broken. Vahn bent them in ways I did not like and don't want to see from Beia's characters in the future. I definitely don't expect to see him suiciding in the future and especially not admitting to it outright.

Its my final say anyways, Nycticora can choose to do nothing if he wants to but there are other Immortals involved in the forum moderation as well here, so don't criticize him for what he chooses and choose not to do. Its just up to him. you're reading too much into him saying he "allowed" something. The rules are final.

Gretya was awesome man, Kudos on the good record. Sorry you could not beat that healer in the arena. I was trying to give you some advice after watching you two. I would have swore the player of Gretya was Mikoos (having healer troubles) See you soon!

The PK record is decent.. I guess? Not many people bother to try to pull that off with a healer. I don't think we have anybody who is anti-pk'ing healer though. We had our top pk'er on the board was a healer for a very long time. A-something. I don't remember his name because I've been too checked out to care, but I remember he got some skills nerfed. There's also been Ashlyn, Kersh, Hans. My own guys. Really, all sorts of pk'ing healers. All of this was before castigate made healer pk'ing a little better. So I dont know where you are coming from with this "teaching everyone" angle. You really can't teach anybody else anything beia. You should be focusing on not being so terrible at everything you do.

This is just a stereotypical I dont understand what I'm doing but chaotic seems like breaking the law scumbag piece of shit lightwalker, except that it has only 3 flags which is barely any at all. Totally fine with that being played but don't do that a claim to be a pioneer of Zafrin RP. I could be calling this wrong, given that I don't watch too often anymore, but in my limited view that is what I felt I was seeing. Attacking neutrals for no reason, breaking honor, lying, kicked from nobles. It just looks basically bad. If you felt like people were criticizing you, I imagine you were probably correct, but you were mistaken about why. and i can tell you with 100% cetainty that Zafrin would not have been ok with it. this character is a big enough embarassment to his tattoo that its making me reconsider this whole free tattoo for clerics thing. He would be pissed at the entire situation, larger than you

What upset me the most about this character is that he would immediately shatter and abandon his RP in the face of trying to get his EQ back after a death/losing eq. There was no consistency on this character. Make a shaman and kick ass, and RP out your kills, and you'll have a lot more fun.

There were some good and bad points with this character. The chaos angle was good, you seemed to push things being chaotic which is lacking with most chaotic characters. The bad was the fact that Vahn was fairly dishonest as a healer, caught several times lying about equipment to get what you wanted. Healers should NEVER lie and have an overall good character about them. Vahn character was always in question which I agree with Kento would have better suited as a shaman.

I really don't like people saying blanket "this is how characters should be." Vahn was a jerk and borderline ooc and he didn't always stay on the right side of that line. Sure, that's a problem that no one is able to dispute. But if he wants to play a healer that lies because he's selfish? Is the character lawful? Lawfuls probably shouldn't lie, oh he's chaotic.

I'm not saying Beia did it right, but there's no reason a healer can't be full of chaos and lies, especially one who follows Zafrin.

+1 to Vevier. What Beia was trying to do with this character wasn't wrong. I think you've confused the good/evil and law/chaos axes, Jaux. It may be perfectly acceptable for a good character to lie, cheat, and steal in the name of a greater good.

The reason it didn't work for this character is only that where a character motivation should have been (some goal or purpose that would fit a Chaotic Good character) there was only "get equipment".

Maybe I didn't word things properly. What I am trying to say is that players see healers as someone they can trust. Vahn was clearly not someone that player could trust due to his dishonesty. We can say that him being dishonest was due to his desire or greed for gold, but that is really sugar coating the issue. When you read about healers they are technically suppose to give up gold for their faith, so really Vahn should have been an outcast. With that label players would know that they need to be more cautious when dealing with him.

He was Zafrin. If we expected healers to give up their gold, then they would have a poverty vow like monks. If we wanted them to be trustworthy, then we would force lawful on them the way we force chaotic on berserkers.

Beia didn't do it right because he didn't stay IC with his roleplay, not because his concept was flawed.

Chaotic good does not mean jackass good. the good ethos differ by their methods not their devotion to good. like for instance in the good cop/bad cop routine, the bad cop is not a chaotic good cop - a good would more likely than not go with the "never hurt an innocent" routine. chaotic good is generally more along the lines of robin hood/leeroy jenkins, or it could be some sort of rebel leader. i think where this goes wrong is the players just fails to reconcile these philosophies with its practical reality. if you're going to pick zafrin, you should be leaning towards the robin hood (i.e. like i said, does what he wants but doesnt hurt innocents). this character was either the exact opposite of that - it is simply a mass-murdering extremist (i.e. the rebel leader kinda route but oops not in a cabal and forgot to gather followers) - or it was just beia being a jackass. Could be I just didnt get enough time to watch and form a proper opinion, but that is what I saw and heard about.
