Shadows danced due to the flickering light. A sole candle shining its
steady flame as it caused the room to feel larger than it was. A soft hiss
to her side. If it bit her, she would die. If it accepted her, she would
be allowed to join the clan. Simple as that. Drow were preferred for their
ruthlessness, and none were more ruthless than their social elite. She
chose to leave it, to learn to kill from darkness. She did not think she
could die. She could sense it stop moving, poising as she saw it from the
corner of her eye. She dare not move to provoke it as it hood flared out.
It tongue flicked out once then it bobbed as it seemed to recognize
something. Perhaps it was chance or fate, but she knew. It recognized a
killer and was just as scared of her as she was of it. The cobra shifted
before moving off to something else. A soft skittering, food. She let out
a soft breath, her first trial complete and she could start to train and
work on her art.
Thoughts of the past
The training was brutal. Constant nights spent wrapping and treating her
hands with salve to heal from the cuts. Tears held back and cries bitten
upon as she was put through exercise after exercise. Only pausing to
lessons on tactics and methodologies which were given during meals. The
worst was the evening tea. It was dosed, starting in the smallest of specs
and slowly tuned higher and higher, with venom farmed from Sazhiroka. The
ancient cobra that the clan cares for more as if it was a deity.
She doesn't know how long or if there are multiple iterations of Sazhiroka,
but the venom left her wracked with pain before she passed into slumber due
to the overload to her senses. She couldn't believe this was what came to
her, raised to be a fighter of her family from the City, she left sometime
after the death of Queen Eurayel and that had thrown most of the elite
families in disarray. She had been through worse, some times she swore she
had died and her soul refused to leave her body. Something was driving her,
and she had no idea what it could be. But much like how a serpent moves, it
is better to go with the flow instead of striking out blindly.
She shuddered as she recollected her thoughts. Scanning around the city of
Seringale before moving off to a more secluded part of the realm, returning
to her training to perfect herself, a bitter memory of not just one, but two
offenders that she has on her list of enemies to put into the ground,
permanently. She knew dwelling in the past would not only hinder her from
her goals, but cause emotions to spur up. She never could keep them as
contained as she would have liked. It always left a bitter taste in her
mouth to leave them exposed. Except to one, that one particular individual
she felt she could always let her soul bare and vent her earthly
frustrations to.
Description (commended):
Flowing with silky strands, shimmering platinum hair coils around this
woman's shoulders in a tight braid. Her glowering green eyes glitter like
polished emeralds wrought on a ebony frame. Her petite rounded face is
barren of any scars or marks and small with thin lips and pointed nose. Her
eyebrows are thin strands neatly plucked and trimmed. Her ears poke out
through her hair, long and pointed the seem to have grown outward rather
than upward. Her expression seems to be one of periodic disdain, as if she
is bothered by the din of the living.
She seems to carry herself with a trained grace. Her arms are tightly woven
with wiry muscle. Unlike her face, her hands are covered in small nicks and
cuts, perhaps due to training with many bladed instruments. Beyond that,
her hands seem to be so soft, the nails painted a shade of green that
matches her eyes. Running up and along her left arm is the mark of her
clan. A cobra coiling around a sai, it seems to have a mystical element as
it softly glows on her dark skin the color of the mark matching that of the
paint on her nails.
Coiling around the bulk of her body are thin strips of dusky cloth. Neatly
woven around her legs trailing up and past her waist to cut off just above
her bosom. The cloth seems to be quite soft and flexible as she has no
issues moving with them on. Covering over her torso is a simple tunic with
a cut off pair of trousers hanging off of her waist.
Fighting between the clans has weakened all of us. I cannot heal but I can strike with the power of shadows. This seems more fitting of our class.
Join my clan and you can re engage an enemy by teleporting through shadows with a shadow spear.
You will be missed, but I understand, I will never get use some of the other clan powers.
Enjoyed your company , good luck.

hmm actually right now I think we just need a version of assassinate back. something where you just gotta stalk them first, and if you are seen then you have zero shot at this working. and with the who command being literally enough to break stalks. we actually already have these mechanic. i might do it as my own strythmas wish list thing
Just because we made shadows into a buncha specs, it doesn't mean they are stuck like that. We can add things into specs, or we can bring things out into general skills. The goal is to have a streamlined playstyle for whatever choice you made, and each choice has its highlights that offer something different. Every spec kept acupuncture and can still use energy scrolls, and you know if you really want a load of healing, there's a spec for that. But that doesn't mean we are just unable to add or mix up things. Its easy to do that. We just need to make sure it is actually logical. Obviously ozaru is going to figure out which one is his thing and just spam that one
Oh yes, bring back assassinate. The chance to instant kill fits my imagination for the shadow class being glass cannons, your imagination may vary.
Finally got to test some things with this class and I like the improvements. As for acupuncture it keeps you from being able to use some skills, so it is actually not ideal. Maybe a revamp on acupuncture. If it was possible to switch clans that would be cool.
