'MASTERY' Monks follow a path of progression in their fighting styles. They are as follows: Novice: A monk may learn the basics of any fighting style from the Grandmaster for the purpose of familiarizing themselves with it. This makes him a novice. Intermediate: A monk may at any time choose to bear a tattoo of a fighting style they are a novice of. This alone signifies their dedication to the style and thus their worthiness of greater rank. The monk may become intermediate in four unique styles. The tattoo is gained from the Grandmaster by use of the command TATTOO. Intermediates learn additional skills in that style. Master: A monk who has mastered a martial weapon (e.g. sword) has earned the right to become a master. To do this, he must ENHANCE a tattoo at the grandmaster. Only two styles may he become a master of. Masters of a fighting style may be slightly more effective in it. Grandmaster: A monk who has gone on to master a fighting style may become a grandmaster of it by enhancing a tattoo again. Only one style, and from those that he is a master of. Grandmasters of a style pick up a little extra effectiveness in a "basic" skill.
