'CODE OF CONDUCT'
Some time before the defeat of the dragons, a warrior tribe of humans on
the brink of extinction were adopted by a subset of giants known then as the
titans. These titans were hated by the old gods because of the challenge to
their supremacy that they posed. Their expert craftsmanship produced
weapons that equalled anything the gods themselves knew how to create,
causing some of them jealousy and others a feeling of insecurity. And more,
besides, because the gods craved the attention of mortals, but the titanium
armor took plenty of that away from them. Even deeper than this, these
titans had attained enlightenment - they developed a set of guiding
principles derived by the titans detailing how to live honorably and meet
one's potential. Titan philosophy challenged the need or point for any
church or city devoted to the worship and praise of any god, and the gods
did not like that one bit. Many titans were exiled into the wilderness,
which is where they found these humans. They shared their knowledge of
weaponry, protected them from the dragons, and taught those principles down.
And though the old titans are mostly extinct, their principles live on
through the tribe. That tribe eventually built the fortress of war, calling
themselves the Warlords, and remastered those principles into the Code of
Conduct. In time, one of these Warlords was rewarded with immortality,
seizing the heart of a dragon. Thus the Warlord cabal was borne, built
upon the teachings of those ancient titans. Each Warlord is loyal to the
book of Warlord code, before leader, friend, and even their gods.
