'FIRE STORM' Syntax: cast 'fire storm' (short syntax: fsto) Spell type: AFFLICTIVE This spell conjures a storm of fire, causing burning wounds to everyone in the room. There are few spells with damage potential greater than that of a raging storm, but victims have also been known to survive the storm with little more than a few burns and singed hair. Each successive fire storm temporarily strengthens the victim's resistance to subsequent fire attacks. Only invokers are able to call a fire storm as a part of their arsenal. Invokers who have mastery over fire may create a raging wildfire in any room they call a fire storm within. The fires are so strong that they may persist long after the caster has left the area. Unlike the other 'storm' spells, fire storm does not create a constant maelstrom and must be continually powered by its caster. In their endless study of the arcane, invokers have developed an affinity for elemental spells. A fire storm cast by an invoker who is completely attuned with fire has been known to cause anyone unlucky enough to be in the room to be engulfed (afflictive) in flames. Engulfed victims will continue to burn for a short time before being extinguished. A flame arrow cast at an opponent still engulfed from the fire storm will cause even more damage.
