'SHIELD' Syntax: cast 'shield' <target> (short syntax: shld) Spell type: PROTECTIVE The shield spell creates a magical force shield around the caster that absorbs a small amount of incoming damage, depleting the shield but also dampening the attacking force. The shield will regenerate slowly while out of combat, and may be recovered more quickly with the mystic tendrils spell. If the shield is shattered by force, it will heal the bearer. Additional special effects may take place depending if the invoker uses an elemental shield (ice, fire or lightning). Note that due to the way a shield dampens damage, i.e. by the shield absorbing some of the damage, the damage taken appears the same as if there were no shield, however the mitigation does occur. Dealing direct spell damage to a target will replenish shield.
