'DRUIDIC STAFF' Syntax: druidic staff (to call out for a new staff) Syntax: beckon (to retrieve a lost staff) Syntax: combine shards (to create more powerful shards) Syntax: slot <shard> <staff> Syntax: brandish (to invoke the staff) Syntax: druidic <name> (to name the staff) Because a druid prefers to remain within the forest at all times, they have to learn to make do with their surroundings for many basic needs. Thus, each apprentice druid is taught how to carve a powerful staff from a simple piece of wood as part of their training. A druidic staff can contain three combined shards and added to the staff with SLOT. The crystals may be regained by sacrificing the staff. Keep in mind that the more shards are combined, the bigger the bonus from slotting them in. A fully powered druidic staff requires well over 200 crystal shards. Use the COMBINE command to combine shards. As a druid casts spells, the crystals inserted into it will glow like the element used for each, so for instance, casting earthquake three times will charge the staff with the element EARTH. Like with any staves, the druidic staff may be used to release the stored magic with the BRANDISH command. Such is the tradition of druids, that knowledge is not to be written, thus it is left to you to discover or learn the available combinations and guard them. Keep in mind that elements and their opposites cannot exist together. This may prove useful when trying to remove unwanted charge. Existing charges can be seen using the druid's special PROMPT. The first usage of druidic staff will cause one of Serin's great trees to call out to the druid. The druid may then visit that tree to obtain their staff. Each tree is associated with its own unique element, and since shards must be slotted, a druidic staff is an important item that requires considerable investment. Checking druidic staff again before it has been obtained will cause the tree to again call out as a reminder of its location. Due to the staff's primal energy, it can only be sacrificed by its creator. Additionally, a lost staff can be reclaimed by the druid with the BECKON command if it is done within a reasonable amount of time. If a staff lies unclaimed for too long, it will return to nature.
