It is impossible to earn this award purely by playing one in-game character alone. Rather, it is reserved for those players who exemplify the four core values of the game: enjoyment, respect, discipline and sportsmanship. These values create the kind of culture that makes the Abandoned Realms MUD a special place to compete in, and what makes our logboard's playerkilling logs exciting to read for people all over the world. Here are some examples of how players can demonstrate these values: Enjoyment: Players can demonstrate their enjoyment of the game by participating in a variety of activities, such as roleplaying, playerkilling, and exploring the world. They can also show their appreciation for the game by participating in discussions on the forums and helping new players. Respect: Players can demonstrate their respect for their fellow players by following the rules, being polite in chat, and not griefing other players. They can also show their respect for the staff by following their instructions and not arguing with them. Discipline: Players can demonstrate their discipline by following the rules, not cheating, and not abusing the game's mechanics. They can also show their discipline by being patient and not giving up easily. Sportsmanship: Players can demonstrate their sportsmanship by being gracious in victory and defeat. They can also show their sportsmanship by not gloating or trash-talking other players, roleplaying notwithstanding. The Bloodmark is a prestigious award that is only given to a select few players.
