CRUSADE

'CRUSADE' Syntax: crusade <target> A Crusade is a holy mission embarked upon by the Knights of Valour. A Crusade is much like the ancient challenge of Warlords - a fight to the death, with honor a necessary part of it, to avoid excessive brutality. Crusades are undertaken against evils for the purpose of cleansing their darkness or enforcing the OATH. Those under the target of a Crusade will find their ability to defend themselves against the Light slightly diminished for the duration of the Crusade. Warrior, berserker and ranger benefit well from crusade. Those in the order of Heroes receive offensive benefits. Whilst in crusade their warcry will be emboldened with the courage and ferocity of the Gules lions of Valour, allowing their attacks to strike more fiercely against the corrupted source of the 'protect good' spell. (In other words, protection spell but casted by evils). Wearing more save vs spell further increases this resolve. Note that this bonus cannot exceed the mitigation normally afforded by the spell it is counteracting. Meanwhile, those with warcry who are in the order of Templars will instead experience a minor amount of mitigation. This does not stack with their ward of light, but it too does increase by wearing saves. It is permitted to YIELD to get out of a Crusade without dying. Upon yielding the OATH is automatically taken. Breaking the Oath leads to becoming ANATHEMA. Those who are Anathema are not permitted to yield in Crusades, because they do not deserve that. After defeating their opponent in a Crusade, the Knight can use the PURIFY ability to remove the opponent's Anathema status and earn crowns for Knights. See also: OATH ANATHEMA PURIFY
