ENCUMBERANCE
'ENCUMBERANCE'
Because monks rely on their quickness and agility in combat, they need to use
the "light" armor type. If they ignore this necessity, certain skills will
be hampered. For instance, having encumbered arms will prevent the monk from
being able to effectively do advanced martial arts with their hands, while
encumbered legs will prevent them from being able to execute advanced kicking
techniques. An encumbered head will confuse the monk's acute senses.
Note that as an exception, mithril armor is *never* encumbering.
Fighting styles also have encumberance restrictions of their own - if the
monk's encumberances do not meet these, they will not be able to fight in the
particular style. For more information about each style's encumberance, please
see its helpfile.
Encumberance locations: arms, legs, hands, head, feet, body, waist, torso
Note: A body part being encumbered does not always have a negative effect.
This depends on the circumstances the monk may be in at the time.
