FAERIE BLAST
'FAERIE BLAST'
Syntax: chant 'faerie blast' <target> (short syntax: fabl)
Spell type: AFFLICTIVE
The druid spell faerie blast uses primal fire magic to scorch its targets
with extreme heat. This is a targetted spell that generates a fire
rune for the druid's staff. After generating two or more fire runes,
the druid is able to brandish the staff to set it on fire, engulfing
the opponent in flames. Thus druids are known to chant a couple of
their faerie blasts, brandish the staff, and then repeat this again to
keep the opponent engulfed.
Druids of the stone circle find faerie blasts particularly favorable
because of the chance of molten earth that occurs during engulfment.
This affect modifies their earthquake to instead erupt a directed burst
of lava and a spire of earth. Faerie blast causes these spires to
explode and hurl shrapnel at the opponent. Stone druids like to chant
two or more faerie blasts to then brandish, and they chant earthquakes
whenever the earth is molten to perform optimally.
Note that player targets receive an additional mental save against
faerie blast, making it reliable only against dimwits.
