MOMENTUM

'MOMENTUM' Syntax: automatic Each successful melee attack or successful "combat style"-specific skills makes the warrior gains combat momentum for a number of rounds of combat. Attacks which are boosted by concentrate cause an additional gain of momentum, while missed attacks cause momentum loss. The most gain or loss of combat momentum will come from success or failure of combat style skills. Ripostes do not alter the momentum in any way, and momentum gains are more limited in reflex mode. Effects of momentum are: * improved fighting style (momentum advantage erases combat disadvantage) * faster recovery time for performing combat style skills * disarm attempts have more force behind them Changing combat styles resets momentum, so the warrior must think about whether it is better to shift gears for a new approach or stick with their chosen tactic and try for a landslide victory following early success. Note that forceful collisions (such as bash) will also remove momentum, causing the warrior to succumb to any combat disadvantage.
