MONK THROW
'MONK THROW'
Syntax: throw
Monks are able to use their opponent's body weight against them to
perform powerful throws. The application of the technique depends on how
ready the opponent is for the throw. There are two possible outcomes of the
throw.
Ogoshi: This is a simple hip toss. The opponent will be thrown prone. It
is a short, quick throw with the fall being easily broken. This is the
typical throw you will perform against reactive targets such as player
characters and certain monsters.
Uki goshi: This is an advanced, rolling throw technique. The opponent will
be airborne and unable to attack for quite some time, land heavily, and be
further winded by the fall. This fall also leaves the opponent vulnerable
to the rising dragon technique learned by master monks.
The uki goshi is reserved for NPC's and for against players who have left
themselves incredibly open to the throw, such as by attempting to wind up an
overhead crush, or having missed a bash. In the case of a missed bash, the
monk will still need to act VERY quickly to capitalize on the opening for
the uki goshi.
