OVERHEAD CRUSH
OVERHEAD 'OVERHEAD CRUSH'
Syntax: overhead <target>
Overhead crushes are heavily favored by strong users of two-handed weapons.
To perform an overhead crush, one uses both hands to raise one's weapon high
above his head, then sends it crashing down with stunning force. How
effective the attack is depends greatly on the attacker's own strength and
how the victim attempts to defend against the attack. A shield-wearing or
counterbalanced target can avoid the attack entirely and retaliate, while
others may have their weapons disarmed or can even be sent sprawling to the
ground.
An overhead crush has enough force to ground a flying opponent and is an
especially brutal way to initiate combat against sleeping targets. It is
noted that a warrior in a victory rush (from warcry) may use this to break the
opponent's protective shield entirely. Raged berserkers do not have the
necessary control to execute an accurate overhead crush.
* Requires two-hand style, and can be countered by defensive style.
* Can be nullified by protective shield.
