'RAKNOS' The Raknos are an ancient race of evil spider-humans that once ruled the western lands of Serin. Whence they first came no one knows for sure, other than rumors the ground once split open and the creatures sprang upon Serin from the netherworld itself. Once a force to be reckoned with, the Lich King Xanthak tired of the Raknos' power and attempted to eradicate the race for all eternity. He was mostly successful...mostly. A precious few Raknos escaped the undead onslaught and burrowed away, deep underground beyond the sight of the Lich King, to hide and recover. Ages have past since then, and rumor has it that the Raknos have recovered to the point of finding new hosts to propagate their species. Were a werebeast ranger of the fifteenth to twenty-fifth ranks to stumble upon the Raknos' new home, they may find themselves uncomfortably and permanently cursed by the Raknos' powers, enveloped by the Curse of Acadia, and forever vulnerable to holy weapons. But with the curse comes great, and evil, strength.... * NOTE: Those with reputable accounts may follow a quest to become a Raknos.
