'SACRED OATH'
Syntax: oath <protection/devotion/vengeance>
Syntax: oath eradication (Elf Paladin only)
Syntax: oathbreak (this is irreversible. You will turn into a dark-knight!)
Paladins of the 15th title are required to make a decision which will follow
them for the rest of their lives. The oath they choose gives the paladin
both powers from the Immortals for their service and also responsibility.
Oath of PROTECTION: Believing in a cause greater than themselves, this
paladin is sworn to serve it. It could be a king, a country, or a single
person. Those who take the oath of protection may not lie, or fight
dirty. They must treat others fairly, and aid and protect the weak. Most
importantly, they hold themselves accountable for their actions.
Note: They are allowed to refuse to answer and say it would be wrong to.
Refusing to offer assistance to evils is paramount to a paladin.
Oath of DEVOTION: This paladin is devoted to the gods. Kind, merciful and
forgiving, and one who fights those who ruin all that is good and beautiful
in the world. Those who choose the oath of devotion are reluctant to kill
anything with a soul that can still be saved.
Note: This paladin has a distaste for poison. They will not associate with
poison or with anybody that uses poison, and will get in the way of
a group attempting to kill mortals (even if that means sitting down and
just refusing to participate in it).
Oath of VENGEANCE: A paladin that smites the wicked - one that fights the
greater over the lesser evil if a choice is needed. Offer no mercy to sworn
enemies, but also offer restitution to those who have been hurt by those
enemies. Fated to eventually fight evil, whether they want to or not.
Note: Remember well this paladin's key goal is to *right wrongs*, not
just tear around Serin beating up evils (which they also do).
Oath of ERADICATION: Elf Paladin only. Those who take the oath of
eradication are sworn to the Enclave of Three Moons, and their goal
is the utter eradication of evil. They must be careful their own
actions do not become evil.
* CAUTION * Killing a good-align with this oath is an automatic oathbreak.
Please be aware that all paladins are forbidden from offering assistance
to evils and accepting assistance from evils. This is a hard rule.
This is in *addition* to the things they do because they are good alignment.
Failure to uphold the paladin oath will result in
OUTCAST. Please
be very mindful of your oath at all times, regardless who you are
grouped with and what their agenda is. The oath always comes first.
