SPELLCRAFT
'SPELLCRAFT'
Syntax: automatic
Spellcraft is a passive skill available to all mages giving them the chance
to automatically boost the level at which their spells are cast. The higher
the mages intelligence and rank, the more powerful the spellcraft skill
becomes. An additional feature of spellcraft is that it will also improve
the mage's concentration, as well as their chance to improve the next spell,
potentially triggering secondary affects for any spells that might allow
that, such as the possibility of an illusionist's colour spray spell also
having a slim chance to cause a flashfire. Illithids are particularly adept
at spellcraft.
Equipped luck items can improve the chance to spellcraft. However, note
that the chance for any given spell to have triggered a secondary affect
because of spellcraft is independent of equipment and luck though, instead
typically based only on the mage's spell proficiency and other factors that
the spell's scroll might detail. In short, luck can only increase the
likelihood of spellcrafting.
