WARDS

'WARDS' A ward is a special type of Riftward spell offering significant protection benefits. There are five different wards, each holding the powers of one of the Prime Planes: ETHER WARD - Serin ASTRAL WARD - Acadia PRIMEVAL WARD - The Nether ELDRITCH WARD - The Abyss OBLIVION WARD - The Void A Riftward can only have a total of two wards active at a time: one ward on themselves and one ward on the target of their ESSENCE LINK spell. A character can only have one ward affecting them at a time. Casting a ward on a character that already has a ward will replace it with the new ward. Wards have two effects: a 'cast effect' and an 'enduring effect'. Both effects activate on the target the moment the ward is cast, however, the cast effect is an instant bonus or a very short-term effect while the enduring effect lasts much longer.
