'ESAY'
Syntax: esay '<description>' <message> Syntax: esay set <self/brief
Syntax: esay set <self/brief/full/preview/reset>
ESAY combines the commands
SAY and
EMOTE together, allowing the
player to add a personal flair to their speech. This is a way to increase
the world's believability and immersion for other players. Note that the
syntax for the ESAY command is more similar to casting spells, with the quotes
around the emote being required for multi-word arguments. Attempting to
formulate an esay as one would perform an emote will be a disaster.
Examples:
> esay 'whispers' Time to die.
Davairus whispers 'Time to die.'
> esay 'cackles gleefully.' That's what you say.
Davairus cackles gleefully. 'That's what you say.'
The space after the name can be contracted by using ESAYS instead of ESAY.
> esays 'eyebrows raise.' Impressed yet?
Davairus's eyebrows raise. 'Impressed yet?'
If you wish to esay all the time repetitively, as a character tick, you can
set a permanent esay with ESAY SET SELF, BRIEF and FULL, which each modify
the standard say command with your chosen esay. Other players will see the
entire (full) esay the first time you speak and a brief (i.e. shortened)
version thereafter. To help avoid humiliation, results can be previewed
with ESAY PREVIEW, while ESAY RESET will remove it.
Examples:
> esay set full whispers with the darkness of ages
> esay set brief whispers
> esay set self whisper
