'PLAGUE' 'POISON' Syntax: cast 'plague' <target> (short syntax: plge) Syntax: cast 'poison' <target> (short syntax: pson) Spell type: MALEDICTIVE The plague spell infests the victim with a magical disease of great virulence, attacking both mind and body. Plagued victims find their casting potency and mana regeneration diminished due to a large penalty to wisdom and intelligence, while their physical fortitude is diminished and natural regeneration stunted due to a penalty to constitution. An affected target's maximum health, mana, and stamina reserves are also lowered by plague. The effects of plague worsen with time, although its duration is finite. Plague can also spread from target to target, particularly among grouped persons. Plague is also capable of grounding avians. The poison spell inflicts instant damage upon the target, as well as dramatically inhibiting the target's offensive and defensive abilities in physical combat with large penalties to strength and dexterity. The effects are short-lived, however, and decrease with time. Poison will sufficiently weaken a fighter to prevent them from berserking, entering a state of rage, or performing other abilities that require generation or release of fury. Like the other affects of poison, the damage sustained over time will decrease as well.
