'BERSERK'
Syntax: berserk
This ability allows warriors and berserkers to enter into a more frenzied
state, granting them additional hitroll and damroll according to their
strength, dexterity, and level. Berserk will also heal the fighter
according to the amount of mental energy consumed by entering this state.
More intelligent races have more mental energy to use to heal with this
method, while hardy races with higher constitution can convert their
mental energy into healing more efficiently. The drawbacks of berserk
also include loss of stamina, decrease of ARMOR CLASS, and a penalty to
one's ability to PARRY.
Berserk will also temporarily fortify the fighter against mental spells
and mental damage for its entire duration.
All giant races gain an additional ability while berserking in combat, due
to their primitive but innate affinity to the natural forces within their
surroundings. This attack is unleashed in the form of a called lightning,
stonesplit shout, or blazing ember, depending on the race of the giant.
Berserkers unleash an additional attack for every foe they're fighting
if they berserk while already raged in combat. The amount of healing
conferred by berserk is also increased during rage. The extra attacks
require that the berserker's fury level has crossed the first tier.
