'AUGMENT'
Syntax: shard <object>
Syntax: augment <object> <thread>
Available at the Fireforge in the Battlezone, augmenting allows one to add a
small magical bonus to an item of armor through the use of a thread of time.
To augment items using the Fireforge the following must be known:
SHARD : The Fireforge is activated by making crystal shards, which can be
created at the Fireforge. To create a shard, one must use the forge to
sacrifice a magical item for this purpose. Items which are RARE will create
stronger shards. Shards can be combined into stronger shards, as well.
THREAD OF TIME : These are artifacts of the Second Age, found from slaying
the strongest, most dangerous creatures of the realms. They are awarded at
a fairly rare and random rate, per group member, so travel in groups for
the best rate of finding threads.
AUGMENT : Augment does not need the shards. Once forge is lit up, use a
a thread of time to complete the augment. Augmenting an item of armor will
give it a small magical bonus. This can be done once only AND prevents any
further modifications of the item afterwards, so be sure to complete any
other tasks you wished to perform (engrave, enchant etc) BEFORE you do this.
Note that augmenting unique items with special effects will cause the effects
to be replaced by the power of the augmentation.
