'DAMROLL'
Damroll represents the raw force behind every blow you land. It benefits every
individual attack, including extra attacks from haste, dual wield, and third
attack.
Your total damroll is the sum of:
- Equipment and spell affects that grant damroll
- A bonus from your strength, which scales with your level
- Class and racial bonuses (such as a warrior's favored weapon)
How damroll works:
* Weapon dice are rolled first, e.g. a 4d6 weapon translates to 14 damage on average.
* Relevant multipliers (enhanced damage, rage etc.) are applied to the result.
* Damroll then applies a flat damage bonus to the total after multipliers.
Note that effects like sanctuary and vulnerabilities apply after damroll is
applied to the damage total.
Additional notes of interest:
* Damroll is also scaled by your weapon proficiency (1-100%)
* Wielding a two-handed weapon or fencing multiplies the strength portion by 1.5x.
* Damroll up to twice your level is applied at full value. Beyond that, it suffers
steep diminishing returns.
* Backstab, ambush, and cleave use damroll a second time in their multiplier
formulas, making damroll especially valuable for those skills, though it is
capped at your level for that purpose.
