'DRAGON ANCESTRY'

In contrary to the emphasis on finesse and style that warriors train for in a
methodical manner, the infamous berserkers draw much of their might from the
enhancement of strength and athleticism that develops from a lifestyle of
undertaking difficult battles without rote training. Berserkers are also well
known for their fanatical belief in the gods puppeteering of their lives, which
ironically makes some of the gods take a keen interest in them and take notice
when they see their past selves in a mirror when they observe that berserker.
Sometimes those gods recognize and reward the accomplishments of these overly
zealous fighters with an even greater athleticism for their art of fighting.
Fury: The golden dragon Sarich favors the masters of fury for their ability to
control rage and direct it where it truly belongs: upon evildoers. These
berserkers will aggressively battle only those with a red aura when raging, and,
while they lose a little effectiveness with their
MANIA ability, they compensate
for the lack with the ability to exercise
RESTRAINT, a skill that allows them
further control over their rage. The pet hawk of Sarich is the favored animal of
these berserkers, representing their values of clarity of vision and precise
assault. Fury berserkers utilize the
POWER of ROIY to see clearly in
battle. They are known to use staffs for defense, and their rage increases
accuracy with this weapon. At high ranks, these berserkers become INDOMINABLE,
using their mastery over rage for both restraint and retaliation.
Magma: The masters of magnitude are favored by the legendary dwarf, Phostan,
for their contempt of evil and reliably on-point sarcasm. These berserkers
arrive to battle on massive war elephants, talking smack while swinging their
double-gripped axes. They are jovial but known for their stormy tempers.
Expect them to enter mania quickly against those who have disrespected His
Eternal Holiness. The favored animal of these berserkers is the Kodiak bear.
Abilities gained: DOUBLE GRIP, WAR ELEPHANT, THE MARK, INSULT
Ability sacrificed: DASH
Power: The chaos dragon Zafrin favors the masters of power because of their
mutual hatred of magical items, rooted deep in their history of doing things the
hard way namely, alone. These berserkers possess an extraordinary temper (and
for a berserker, that's saying something), as seen via their
OUTBURST ability,
and are able to regenerate faster than others while raged. Their loner
tendencies, however, are part of what make them truly intimidating, mirrored in
their favored animal, the solitary wolf. Berserkers of power learn the weapon
skill
WHIP early to help them subdue beasts, eventually amplifying this with
LASH. They complement their king of beasts with a
WILDERNESS CLOAK fashioned
from the trophies of beasts they've defeated. Wearing magical items limits the
rage of this berserker.
Disaster: The blood dragon Davairus favors the masters of disaster, for they
share a passion for ultraviolence and a contempt for cowardice. These berserkers
may appear prone to senseless massacre, especially as they sacrifice the ability
to RELAX for the dangerous
MELTDOWN skill. One may observe a method to their
madness, however, as the spilling of blood only serves to strengthen their blood
god. Their favored animal is the mountain lion for its ability to kill quickly
and efficiently. You see, these berserkers favor quick deaths over suffering,
learning to
DECAPITATE their victims for a celebrated end. Finally, their
GLORIOUS HEART may cause anxiety for those on the wrong side of the berserker's
weapon. Cowards beware!
Please note that undertaking a specialization will set an expectation for the
berserker to act in a way that pleases that god. This may lead to some
situations where the berserker is unable to avoid angering the gods. If
in doubt, rage is the answer.
