'MANIA'
Syntax: mania / automatic
Berserkers are capable of working themselves into a deranged mental state
called mania. While in a state of mania, berserkers use their increased
adrenaline to make extra attacks. Mania is learned early by berserkers,
and can be combined by experienced berserkers with RAGE and BERSERK for
great effect, however this comes with an extreme thirst for violence that
makes it much harder to RELAX, and they may find themselves attacking
friendly or neutral parties under a full-blown rage/mania blowout.
In order to enter mania, berserkers have the option to either use their
SWING ability which has a moderate chance to induce it, or use their
HACK
ability which is guaranteed to do so. It is possible for these abilities to
be used again to sustain the mania. Unconscious triggering of mania may also
be caused by a foe attempting to deprive them of a weapon or shield, and
from the stress of anger once their body has reached capacity for fury.
Once they are cross, a berserker can try to enter mania with the command.
A berserker may attempt slumber to end the condition of mania, though it
is possible that the drastic effect on their body of going to a rest state
from a manic state will put the berserker's body into shock, exhausting
them in the process.
Certain spells and toxic substances of enemies will prevent berserkers from
inducing an adrenaline rush upon themselves, while others may trigger it. Most
noteably, berserkers find themselves very debilitated through being poisoned.
However, once in effect, mania operates tirelessly regardless of physical
or mental condition.
