DEITIES

'IMMORTALS' 'IMMORTAL' 'IMMS' 'GOD' 'Immortals' (often, simply, 'imms') refers to players who have reached the highest attainable levels in the game. Here at the Abandoned Realms, anyone of level 51 or higher is an 'immortal.' An immortal's goals are to preserve game mechanics, facilitate game flow, oversee game progression, and leave a net positive impact on the game. Since immortals can wreak havoc with game balance, we here at the Abandoned Realms choose our immortals very carefully. An absolute rule of immortal behavior is that no immortal can aid or assist any player without explicit permission from the higher ranks (level 58 or higher). Additionally, Immortals are required to help identify bugs and may not exploit "known issues". Please don't ask an immortal to help you kill a mob, gather EQ, or rescue you from a dangerous area. Immortals will gladly answer questions about game commands, game mechanics, and game features. Abandoned Realms has a policy of minimum immortal intervention. Please note intervention is not to be confused with interaction. Mortals are stressed to use their own devices to overcome whatever obstacle is before them. Assaulted by a group of marauders? Form your own group of friends and fight back. Stuck in a noexit room? Ask a paladin or a healer to summon you. The idea is to be self-reliant in preparation for times when an immortal is not available to help. Asking a wizinvis immortal (who appears as "an Immortal") to identify themself is considered rude, and you will be either politely or not so politely told so. A cloak is used when enforcing the rules, and it is this way because ultimately the immortals are a team. Players are expected to obey all orders from immortals without question. If you wish to appeal, comply with the immortal and follow-up with a note to the implementors. See also: RULES BLOODMARK
