'SQUIRE' Syntax: squire <character> When a Knight applicant is recognized to be ready for more formal consideration for membership in the Knight Cabal on a probationary basis, they are made a Squire by using the SQUIRE command. Squires *are not* formal members of the Knights cabal. Instead, they are in a trial period and under the close watch of senior Knights while they pass their assigned trials and prove their mettle. For some this may take longer than for other however it is standard for the Squire period to begin at rank 25 and end at rank 40. While patience is not one of the VIRTUES, it is something a Squire must embrace while waiting for consideration for their probationary period to end and formal induction into Knights to occur. As part of a Squire's tasks between their 25th and 40th ranks it is standard for their mentor(s) to assign them some spells, skills, chants and/or songs to master, as well as to find deep personal meaning in the VIRTUES. The Squire will be tested on the Virtues as part of the Knight Induction Ceremony. Note that Knights are responsible for mentoring their OWN squires. Other Knights may offer guidance, but should respect the (sometimes unorthodox) methods of other Knights and not intercede unnecessarily.
