Why do you lose exp when you flee? How does fleeing make you stupider? |

Does it really matter that you lose 10 exp? Noy a big deal, takes one extremely easy monster to regain wat you've lost. |

Here's a watered-down explanation:
You gain "experience" from killing people/creatures because you're learning how to fight and how to kill - that's the "experience" you're having.
When you flee, you're not learning how to kill/fight, you're learning how to run - completely antithetical to the point of pk/combat. Therefore you're penalized a tiny bit. It's not that you're forgetting something, you're just being given a small penalty for going against the PK model by running away from combat. |

I always thought it was to discourage the losers who would use counter to get something down to quite a few wounds before killing it. |

fleeing automatically incurse a small exp penalty. people used to use it to stay at a certain rank. like when cabals only accepted people who were level 35, people used to flee, flee , flee from mobs to get their tnl back up (without having to suicide on a mob, because that's against the rules). |
