Hi, I'm new to AR. I have a gnome bard (cliche, I know) named Kobble. I've played muds since I was 14, mostly Godwars/Dystopia ... but I haven't been actively mudding for about 2 years. I tried to go back to Godwars/Dystopia but since I'm older it seems everyone that plays that codebase is about 12, and I'm wanting to RP and not just PK. I'm not used to this style of MUD but hopefully I can get the hang of it pretty soon, Kobble is going to be completely neutral so I can learn the in and outs of the game without being destroyed. I really like the MUD so far! |

Bards can be a bit different to play so if you have any questions newbie it or ask another bard. Songs you 'rehearse' instead of 'practice'. took me awhile to figure that one out... |

Yeah, welcome man. Be sure to be aware of your emotions in the game, if you die and get full looted, don't give up or delete, just get going again.
Perseverance and style = respect in this game. |

Gawd I remember when I started, fire giant warrior, played for quite some time (1 week) then deleted, remade, deleted remade. Finally I got a good character going and deleted.
Moral of the Story, don't delete. |

Man, thats funny, my first char was a fire warrior too. Leveled to 41 in like a night, with garbon and some illusionist, they so were ooc'in it hard, and I was so newb i didnt know. lol. Died a whole shit load of times to an influx of dark knights at the time. I kept trucking tho, well obviously. Im still here This game can be really injoyable even when your dieing, its all in how you take it |

My first character was evil too, but that lasted about a day. Thanks everyone for welcoming me. I haven't been able to play much because my internet connection is 38k - 44k and will have sudden 5-30 second lag spikes, making MUDing pretty much impossible. |

Just wondering. |

All the cool kids are doing it.
Actually I had no idea you could use spaces on usernames. |

Welcome dude! Try and stay away from this game! When I first started it was the funnest thing ever, running around with my elf paladin, getting really excited because I was rank 15 and had worn steel!(I thought I was the best!)
But now, this game is the lamest thing in the world, so addicting, I dont like to play it, but I do anyway! It just isnt fun anymore.
Good Luck thought, and I hope the same thing doesnt happen to you

A few tips for helping you RP to as full of an extent as you desire:
Check the sociables list (type soc in game).
See help pmote, help emote.
Check poses (type pose in game).
To try to evade getting pk'd try to eye gouge then run your butt off. |

Thanks for the tips. I'll hopefully avoid conflict enough that I won't even need to use that skill to escape . I'm hoping my internet connection will be fixed soon so I can start ranking and learning my way around. |
