Usage of newbie chat

I havent thought this through yet (whats new??) but maybe we should encourge cross cabal banter on the newbie channel just to 'liven' up things for new players and introduce them to the various cabals. At the moment, when a new player creates they dont really have much interaction with other players (which is bad because the mud is nearly entirely player driven) and the game feels cold and stale to them.

Im not suggesting cabals go rp heavy over the newbie channel or start talking ooc about last nights football match. More of a lighthearted banter. Just a thought.

I've actually tried that on several of my characters, and the result was that not many of the others Cabal members would participate. Really, it's a matter of getting those who are in a Cabal to want to do it.... And given my experience in the enviroment, not gonna happen. Good idea though.
