Speaking of which, what is the whole cabal needs for? For example, I am looking at the Cabal rules for Legion in the Cabals page for AR. It says you must be at or beyond rank 30. Now, at the same time I am looking at the helpfile after you type help Legion and you get to this:

On the battlefield against the darkness, the Dark Lord noticed his talents, and offered him all his power in return for an impossible service that would be his death - the assassination of Queen Victoria. Without conscience, he soon fulfilled his task. Instilled suddenly with vast powers his mortal body could not contain, he was left vulnerable, and forced to flee into the darkness by his brother Sarich. For centuries he rested, mastering his newfound might, returning to Thera to destroy it. He unleashed a wave of demons upon Thera so vast that no mortal survived, plunging Thera into the Second Age. Since then, his power has been limited by Thera's guardians to other planes, manifesting on the mortal realms in the form of those who sell their souls to attempt to follow in his nefarious footsteps.
A Legionnaire is one who seeks world domination. The pursuit of power in all its forms is the only motive of those of the legion. They are a band of evil masterminds, united by the unholy pacts they have made with the dark lords in return for power. Yet their own desire to rule absolutely is itself impeded by the alliance they have made. It is for this reason that the most power-hungry Legionnaires will resort to fighting internally, deciding with violence who among them has the necessary strength and genius to dictate their own elite. Through military might, the collective force of Legion is a nightmare on the mortal plane, an organisation which Thera can only pray to be able to stop.
Entrance Requirements:
1) Must be evil. Cannot be of lawful ethos.
2) Darkhaven hometown only.
3) Application submitted at or before rank 30.
4) No vampires.
5) Must have a background.
If you feel worthy of the dark army, send your application to LEGION.

#3 if you don't know what I am talking about.....So? Anyone want to tell me what the hell is the right one? Please fix it for all of them that are messed up. Justice is the same way. |

You must submit your application while (rank <= 30).
You can't be inducted until (30 <= rank <= 40).
(By the way: "<=" is supposed to be "less than or equal to").
Basically what that means is that you can submit your application at any time before or while you hit rank 30. However, if you submit your application before 30, you'll have to rank up to 30 before you're considered eligible for induction, so typically people will rank to 28-29ish (or directly to 30), pop out the application, then keep going on about their business until someone from the cabal responds to them. Once your application has been sent, you can keep ranking up to 40, but if you pass rank 40 you won't be eligible to join the cabal.

| Vhrael there's a misake in the logic. It's supposed to be 30 >= rank <= 40 (greater than, or equals to 30, and smaller than or equals to 40). |

| Actually, marsd, Vhrael had it right. You read from left to right, 30<=rank<=40 reads: 30 is less than or equal to your rank, and your rank is less than or equal to 40. The equation you wrote, marsd, actually means that your rank is less than both 30 and 40, which means your rank is less than 30, which is wrong. Don't dispute my God. |

this would also mean that your rank is less than or equal to 30 and also less than or equal to 40.
what you'd really be saying then is any number equal to 30 or less.
and 40 would be a paradox. |
