When its at 100% you have more of a chance on getting it once instead of spamming to get the skill to work more properly.

Unless camo has changed, spamming does not improve your chances of success (as only the most recent attempt matters.)

I THINK that, with no adrenaline, the chances of success are fairly close to a character's proficiency percentage. Certainly a calm character at 100% camo is unlikely to fail.

I'd reccoment not spamming camo. If, for instance, there is someone looking out for you in an area it is certainly a bad idea. Hit camo once, and you're *probably* hidden from him. Keep spamming it, and you're bound to be revealed at some point, and if he's sitting there spamming 'where pk' he'll spot you, walk in and windmill cleave you into oblivion. Hit it once, then see if he starts coming your way.

The use of skill % across the board varies a great deal, so there's no good answer for how it works.

Dav, maybe you can answer this? Is that in fact true for Hide and Camo? Personally I hit hide or camo a few times to better my chances of being hidden. But if this is true then perhaps I need to get these skills perfected alot sooner than usual.

I for one have never found myself stepping out of cover or out of hiding due to spamming a few times...It always says when you step OUT of hiding/camo just not when you go in...so...if spamming causes you to step out of it...wouldn't someone have noticed?

Exactly, because it doesn't actually tell you if you're hidden/camoed. The only way to really know is to wait for them to attack you.

Can a guy get a concrete answer? This should be common knowlege. Does Hide/Camo just rely off of the last attempt?

No.

But I was getting that impression.

"It will only take two times in a forest for a half-elf ranger to be hidden." - davairus, or something like that.

I think everytime you type camo/hide, you try it again from scratch - etc:

camo -> fail y/n (y - you are camo'd)
camo -> fail y/n (y - you are camo'd)
camo -> fail y/n (n - you are not camo'd)
camo -> fail y/n (n - you are not camo'd)
camo -> fail y/n (y - you are camo'd)

and so on. That might be close to how it works, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't check your camo status and stack upon it currently...

Right, I'm pretty sure it goes off the most recent attempt.
