how many is enough, or how many is too many, with a character that cant summon, is weak in defenses, and has a vuln? is there any variation based on the above factors when they change?

Used to keep around 15ish and more in stock. It is always better to keep more in case of potions decaying or engaged in long battles.

I like to have atleast 8 and most of the time 10, and maybe im just crazy but I've seemed to notice that if you have anymore then 10 they decay way way faster? Is that a possibility? And I also like to keep them in my sack, and my sack closed, makes it alittle harder to get them out when you need them but it aint that much a trade for not having to get new ones every twenty mins

They don't decay faster, they all decay at the same rate, but in the midst of battle, you take the newest purple that you put into the sack out, and not the oldest which leaves the oldest rotting in that stinky sack, hence the illusion of them decaying faster.

You only really need about 6 purples average. Skirmishes shouldn't really need to last more than the 2 ticks of the purple count. You can always pick purples and equivalent potions in the 3 other areas.

this is pretty much my first "non-sanc with a vuln" so I expect to get thrashed. thanks for the advice though. its pretty revealing. hmm, I've already thought of a simple trigger way to get the oldest purple out of the sack..

You don't need a script for that, just something more than a pea rattling around in the numb skull. You have 8 potions in sack, so "get 6.purple sack", up enter twice more and there you have, the oldest three potions out.

yes but a script would automate it and you wouldnt have to keep track. you seem hostile, with this and graveyard posts. need to talk about it?

Just keep 10 and your good to go if it takes you more than 10 purples to kill someone than well better equip them. If not delete you'll get fucked up fast and hard if you can't take a mother fucker out with 10 purples.

since i was risky i'd even go into fights with 5 but be smarter than me -- keep around 10 to 15, and if you have summon then there shouldn't be an excuse -- keep around 20 to 25 .. after that though it becomes useless.. remember to use the older potions first and fix your aliases to use the oldest purple if you know how to..

and if you have the sanc spell, keep around 1 or 2 just in case
