The help files state that once a person's constitution gets low enough, they will die permanently. Is there an exact value for that or does it vary depending on class/race?
Thanks,

61 deaths until you're dead for good
You'll lose a con every 5 deaths. |

If you're reading it right, that helpfile is actually wrong - constitution hasnt got anything to do with condying. I think a long time ago you'd have automatically condied once you hit 11 con from con-loss (and it was dropping every 3 deaths as well), but that definitely isnt the case anymore, everyone just gets the same amount instead.
The word associated with "condeath" is CONDITION, not constitution. Every other reference to "con" does mean constitution though. |

The help file entry I'm referring to is:
"Constitution is an ability score representing a character's general
physique, hardiness, and state of health.
High constitution allows you to gain more hit points per level and heal
faster. You will loose one constitution point every five deaths. When
your constitution drops too low, you will die permanently." |

Yup, out of date. People used to save trains to keep con above danger for this reason. |

Higher con means you can regen faster. The lower it gets the slower you regen. I believe.. never take my word for anything though, someone will back me up if i'm right. |

I also think con helps for damage reduction...I'm not sure though |

HPs per level for one. Also one of shield block's stat checks. I think a few other skills |

I almost certain that constitution plays a role in the following;
* HP gains per level
* HP regeneration
* Shield Block
* Rage healing
* Hobble Durtation (this is the victims con)
And a bunch of others I'm sure. So it's a concern for everyone and particularly important to a handful of classes.
That damage reduction thing sounds like a myth to me. |

He probably fought giants with physical weapons and then decided on it. It'd explain why I always see him doing that. |
