Movement lag issue

Ok, here is the deal. Someone I know is having SERIOUS lag issues when moving around in ar. Its only movement that he has trouble with. He can spam other commands to his hearts content and it responds instantly but when he moves around he has problems. He has checked and disabled all firewalls and even tried other clients. Does anyone have any suggestions how to resolve this? Has gotten him killed a couple of times in pk situations, and I know its not his connection speed because its like twice as fast as mine is, and I am not having any problems.

It's not AR's fault most likely.. I also have experienced significant lag on AR in the past week which makes playing a mortal a very unnerving experience.. but it is probably down to the wonderful world of the internet, with servers and such screwing up over the world that is causing it. The fact a lot of people have no problems and some do, indicates it is a problem for those specific people's internet and not a problem with AR. Hopefully it will sort itself out soon.

yes, i too have been catching alot of lag spikes lately and i know for a fact it's not my internet because i run on a t3 server at work so there is no such thing as lags, but oh well, i always think of it as something good about to come from it, maybe dav has a trick up his sleeve, and if not then i still love him.

Tell him to adjust his tin foil hat a bit. It makes it a bit harder for me to find out who you are and lag your computer connection (only while you're moving, making it dead obvious its me.)

I didn't mean that you were singling us out, I meant that you were working on something new to put out that is taking up some of the juice of the mud..silly willy

i use 3 different connections at times and have been feeling lag recently too and not just movement. it's been coming and going randomly. idk.

When I do find the time to get on it's like lag'd a bit, dunno why but it's like slow walking everything else is fine so maybe server issues or something

Not to set off a panic or anything, but we're in the information age now, computers are evolving quickly and gamers tastes are changing, new generations dont even mud for the most part. . So server owners are turning toward more stable forms of income than "mud hosting". We are with a company that has been providing dedicated mud hosting for years because he took it up as hobby himself. The same servers that host Achaea and Iron Realms other giant pay-muds on hefty T1 connections. And even he is still working an actual real job because of a plain lack of customers. . So just suck it up and hope it gets better in time, he cares about his reputation and I'm sure he'll deal with server issues if he has any. My guess is its you lagging, not the server ..
