Is there a difference between Murder and Kill commands?
i.e. Murder goblin or kill goblin
does one do something different than the other? Is it alignment dependent or what? |

The murder command should be reserved for initiating melee combat upon a player character. The kill command should be used for slaying creatures (mobs) which will initiate melee attacks upon them. |

but will kill work on players and mobs? and visa versa for murder? does using one or the other actually influence the fight or is it just the proper way of doing things? |

Code: |
You need to MURDER that target. |
Versus charmie and player I think.
Mobs can be attacked via: Kill, murder, attack and just about any fight starting skill you're equipped with. If you are in a fight already, you can only use fight starting skills or spells to attack something else. |

Krakknot, you can NOT "kill" another human player. You have to murder them. You can also murder mobs, but it is alot slower because you have to type "murder" not just "k" The only reason to ever murder a mob instead of kill is if you're a ranger or warrior because then when you murder someone you throw a javelin and get your round of attacks the same as kill. So essentially it's an extra attack. Other then that there is no difference between murder and kill ON MOBS. |

ok, so "murder" player characters, or lead in with an attack spell or skill. |

I use "A (target)" seems to work for mobs or players. |

Thanks Mandor. This is the perfect thing I want to hear. It is too slow to type `murder`, and my kill attemps are few and far between so it is hard to remember to murder rather than kill. It would be fantastic just to have one letter to type to kill both and I tried your suggestion.
`a mob name` worked. But `a player name` didn`t. Is there something else that I need to type to make it work to kill players? |

use the alias system that's been build into AR.
so..
alias kk murder $$
then you can use
target <name>
to dynamically set the $$ variables. |

There is a reason for separate murder and kill commands.. its so that you don't attack somebody accidentally.. if you go around spamming "k 2." for instance that will hit your groupmates. Clifton can tell you how annoying that is for his groupmate. |
