We've started to get into the habit of running short term quests/events around the holidays, but it occurred to me while I was at work today that not everyone shares the same holidays I do, being an American raised in a catholic household.

So if you have different holidays (national or religious) that you'd like to see an AR themed quest created for, go ahead and list them here. Include the date and a brief summary of it in a way that we can turn into a quest. For example...

Christmas: December 25. Celebration of family and gift giving by a Santa Claus figure.

Halloween: Oct 31. Walk around to houses and ask for candy. Children generally wear costumes.

The more information you can give me the better!

I don't think Vevier meant you should come up with as many holidays as possible to keep us busy. I think she just wanted to be fair to players who feel left out when we only run special quests for Christian-American holidays.

For example:

Hanukkah (Chanuka/Chanukah/etc.): Late November or early December. Gifts are given each day for eight days, with a new candle on the menorah being lit each night.

What Vevier's trying to say is if you have a special holiday that isn't already recognized, let us know so we can see if it's something we can try to implement recognition for (Kwanzaa, Easter, Canadian Independence Day (?) whatever... but made-up holidays won't be considered).

Note: The current holidays we typically recognize with quests are Halloween (Stryth-o-ween), Thanksgiving (this year at least), and Christmas (Strythmas). There might be events organized for other holidays but not typically as involved as these.

Exactly.

If everyone is happy with the christian-american holidays, then I'll keep going with what I know.
