So on my bard I uppercutted a NPC, it says you dislocate his jaw, which Im under the impression makes it so he cant speak or cast spells. Then the next round it says he utters some words and he casted a spell on me? Is that right? |

There's a few things that don't work on mobs. Like dispel. And I can't actually think of any others off the top of my head. lol. so it's possible tepesh is right in assuming it just isn't meant to work on mobs. I personally wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. |

Don't quote me on this (I'm much less informed when it comes to pretty much any aspect of the game besides bards heh) but I think silence abilities don't work on mobs, the spell nor things that cause it like uppercut.
Not sure why this is but...hopefully someone with more knowledge will speak up.
(But yeah ps a damaging silence causing attack that you can do irregardless of weapon matchup/combat style is also another nice bonus for bards.) |

I'm almost certain that because it is an NPC, it doesnt work properly.
Just like the movie quote... 60% of the time it works... Every time. |

Certain spells and skills are PvP only. They can still be used on MOBs, but they will essentially just be practice (and extra damage depending on the skill or spell).
Off the top of my head: headbutt, bash, trip, bodyslam, silence, dispel magic, uppercut, cancellation, ghoul touch, energy drain, uh. Yeah. Stuff like that. |
