I was just sitting on AR. And someone who obviously hadn't ever played before started talking to me about how there were only 4 people online. lol

Anyways, he asked how you could see the empty eq slots you have, so you know what you need to get to equip. I've played this game forever. And even I, on occassion, look at my eq and think, looks like something is missing. But can't figure it out. Mainly because it ends up nothing was missing.. what I'm getting at is, would it be hard to implement so when you 'eq' you see the empty slots too? Would help newbs, and even some vets probably.

you mean i need to wear more than a shaman staff and goblin short sword?... damn.

I agree on the idea, though on the other muds I've peeked at, it seems to just cloud my screen. If you did it as just a blank space instead of <nothing is equiped in this slot> it would not be as messy.

Not a bad idea. Just so we're clear on the suggestion, nothing would change when you look at somebody, but you would see empty slots when you type eq?

Code:
You are using:
<used as light> - a blood candle
<worn on finger> - a wyvern's eye
<worn on finger> - a wyvern's eye
<worn around neck> -
<worn around neck> -
<worn on torso> - a red dragon torso
<worn on head> - a mithril helm
<worn on legs> - a set of mithril leggings
<worn on feet> -
<worn on hands> -
<worn on arms> -
<worn about body> - a camouflage tarp
<worn about waist> - a mithril girth
<worn around wrist> -
<worn around wrist> -
<wielded> - a fiery dagger
<dual wielded> - a fiery dagger

I like this idea, though if you're worried about it taking up too much space, I can't imagine it would be too difficult to add in a toggle for it. 'showeq' or something like that, the same way brief and autogrammar work.

Yeah Olyn, I like that lot's better then the way other muds do it with the long message, it ends up being less contrast anyway, which is kinda the point.

And definitely only when you type eq. There's no need, reason, or sense in making it so you see other peoples empty slots. .... hehehehe

Agreed, I like this idea. I have also thought about this myself from time to time. Good call, Voltron.

I dont like this, as :

1. it draws away from the mystique for new players to mudding, because the novelty of discovering new eq slots is removed, (and this is a lot more important than you might think)
2. thieves pry shit and you will immediately know what they pried which is kinda dumb too, its more useful to have that payoff later . otherwise the dude just throws an opal ring on immediately or some crazy gambled item out of his sacks. I was surprised. do you guys even play thieves anymore... coz nobody already replied to say that..

So thats two reasons why answer is no, although I'm aware that our peer muds have already caved on the issue.. I think we can still hold out for a little longer.

What if it's only toggle-able at 50?

And if someone pries, then it doesn't show it as blank for 40 game hours?

Would that be feasible? Or am I just rezzing something that you're firmly against?
