Hey guys,

I just put in a new command "channel" which you can use to repeat-cast the same offensive spell over and over. It lasts until you try to flee, channel something else, use it with no argument, get lagged (e.g. manually cast a different spell, or a mob trips you and the lag is enough to stop you from recasting) or you are no longer in combat. The idea is to relieve the monotony of things like typing hob spark over and over, rend life over and over, etc.

Interestingly enough, although it seems like it would make you lazy and more vulnerable to PK.. since its subsequent casts actually do not require game input, you can squeeze "flee" "where" and "affect" commands in between your casts with no loss of damage per round, and you are more aware of your surroundings anyway, plus you'll be more able to easily interact with your group. This is a boon to that and I think you'll agree very needed with 150 max hp at level 15 type of levelling.

I tried it out a little bit with an illusionist and I personally found it to be a huge relief and an upgrade to my ability to level since I don't have to type as much anymore. I can outdamage my groupmates easily until I run out of mana. YMMV. Let me know if you find any other uses for it. Also, lets consider this an experimental feature. It seems a little bit risky, but I couldn't think of any obvious abuses.

How does the spam prevention filter affect this? Do you still get a penalty for input spam or does it work differently?

i think the spam filter only catches input that you put in, not stuff the game repeats for you.
if that's not the case then using this will be hilarious Razz

Does it lag you as if you cast spells normally? and if you flee midcast how does that work? does it wait till after the cast is completed before attempting to flee? Etc.

i was also thinking that I doubt you will input the same spell before A. the mob dies, B. you run out of mana or C. you need to cast something else. Noob question Smile

As I mentioned, if you flee or cast other spells it interrupts you as soon as n ormal lag wears off.
