about 5 minutes per month will keep your character alive. If you associate it to your forum account, you can see how many minutes you've logged this month from the main page by clicking your name to see your dashboard (it's near the "VOTE" link in the top right)

Ok I found the dashboard you are talking about I still have plenty of time logged for this month an thank you. I really do appreciate the help

If you've never used irc before, the way it works is that you log in via a desktop computer and usually stay logged in for a long time (all day, sometimes several days) and read chat occasionally, reply occasionally, etc, then chat when people happen to be around at the same time. If you log in for like 5 minutes, say "hello?" and leave nobody will be around
