Avians will no longer be vulnerable to disease (inferring a vulnerability
to a damage type). Instead the plague spell will simply make avians too
weak to fly. This should make a little more sense, since they don't have a
high con and fly is under control.
The general resistance to mental and vuln to maledictive remains in place.

Some sources of plague are:
* direct spells that do it (shaman / dk / necro)
* drug other (thief)
* ruby-hilted dagger
* getting infected from somebody else
* killing a dark-knight's nightmare steed
Some ways to cure plague are:
* ranger herb spell
* temple priest
* healer/shaman/paladin
(I think that might be all of them)
The plague spell is about ideal for dealing with avians, but take care not to pigeon hole it as the bird-killer. Its long lasting, difficult to cure and gradually reduces the players max health,mana,move, and stats until it wears off, making it ideal in situations where the opponent tries to run and reset. It really pays off over time. Its good if they "get away".
What this change does in my mind is this:
* makes plague immediately useful against a particular race, which I think will help us notice its a worthwhile spell
* makes avian more attractive to play, which means more choices
* makes avian viable to open to new classes if we want
* spares us from having to fix a bunch of overpowered disease weapons. In fact the disease weapons might run into the problem of meeting slith resistance once in a while, so having the higher average damage ones makes sense now. The problem is completely solved. |

I think im gonna roll an avian now. I've always liked them as a class but that easy disease weapon was just to hard to deal with. Good job! |

Maybe we'll see some avian healers running around now. With the vuln it was just stupid when you could go human instead. |

This is a very good change for avian ninjas in the very least. This was the most gimped class against a ranger because disease arrows hit vuln and foreign weapon. you didn't need to do anything but use a bow and they were toast. In the first post it says vuln to mal, does that mean vuln to mal plague or vuln to all mal spells blind, plague poison? |

I believe mal vuln is for anything maledictive based. Help "spell name" will give the newer players information on what type each spell is. |

"immune to plague" doesn't mean what you think it means. Read the DK patch notes more carefully. I'll get some helpfiles added for that stuff ASAP, kind of slammed with work atm. |

Lawl @ Kato. Sure, that's permafly. Just like 'get in car' is perma drive. And go to bed is 'perma sleep'. And eat food is 'perma full'. Your skipping a few steps because you don't like the rationale. I don't see perma-fly as a big deal, in and of itself, because there are other abilities such as charge, thrash and wild smash that can mess with that. |

They use take no negative consequences, except for the fact that they are no longer allowed to fly due to plague still being affecting by plague, it just not doing its effects really. If that's okay to understand. So its still worth working on trip and using your nightmare stallion. |

Avians also have 2 less str and 2 less con than human DKs. That's a pretty big penalty |

So, this may not be the place for this, but are avian dks supposed to dive charge? Also, does casting plague make anything stop flying, or just avians? |

It stops creatures that fly naturally, such as avians, dryads, nymphs. I've knocked them out of the air via plague before. Magical granted flight via spell or armor does not. |
