Best class is probably a necro, sleep them cast all your spells on them, blind, faerie fire, weakness, curse, poison, plague, etc. then acid blast or shatter, order your charmies to rescue you, then spam shatter or acid blast, when your done, soul capture on their corpse and give all the equipment to your charmies then sort through it later, BAM!
lets here some good tactics. |

Illusionist. They can log on naked and still be a serious threat. If they fail to kill you, they can easily flee, recover, and try again and again until they land that lucky dispel + charmie bashes that kills you. |

In the past, shaman or necro, about even, Wryth or Naugroth, take your pick. Present, necro, cus you get svs vs. mals = screwed shaman. Necro, you get svs mals, acid blast + zombies, you get hit/dam, sleep + spells, yay. Of course that is best pking machine with unlimited time, you pay for being a necro when you log on with no zombies. With limited time, illusionist. |

though monks are offensive machines, they don't have enough defense (prot shield etc) to be as dangerous as shamans in my opinion. if you can capitalize on their offense and play it smart.. hm i dunno. |

easiest class to learn pking is probably monk now. Tell a newb where to find eq, tell him about offensive/tiger stance, and the three lags that monks have. He'll kill a lot of people. |

Illusionist or Necro (Never had a vampire)
If the spells don't get you, the pure damage from anywhere from 4 to 6 charmies will definately stop you in your tracks.
Way way way (WAY) way back in the day, I remember grouping with/watching Githnaru/Resatimm/Quazark and it was a bloodbath. |

My ideal choice of best pk class: Shaman, Necromancer and Illusionsts. Monks used to be quite beef up till some changes made to them. At least this is how I feel. |

It's the bard, but nobody believes me because there's never been any aggresive bards. Incredible luck, eye gouge, good defenses (protection + staff and dodge + reasonable hp), enhanced damage, cure serious, third attack indoors, and the incredible damage dealing spell that is four seasons (basicly a fireball that goes off every single round and needs only be cast once every 4 rounds). Then there's the overlooked but incredibly powerful affect songs, such as an area affect hysteria song, a song that removes all charmies (screwing over any necros, illusionists or rangers), a misdirection song, and a song that drains mvs and causes the victim to lose concentration. |

you have a good point..
especially because they aren't allowed to be overly aggressive. maybe an evil bard would be a terror to be reckoned with, mostly because of eyegouge. however, the thread is best class for pking, and you aren't going to be going around having fun pking with a bard, because you aren't allowed. |

Drow Shamans. No matter what the little shits always survive with only a mediocre amount of skill. Those with excellent amounts of skill will never die and are damn near impossible to kill without a group of three. Especially if mastered.
Necromancers a close second but takes too much prep, and a shaman summoning hobgoblins away can make a necro's life hell if the fight is forced. |

Like anything else, this depends on the person playing the character. I would say, that given a decent player behind them, illusionists, necros, and shamans are probably the best pk classes in the game. Only problem with necros and illusionists though, is that they are offensive pkers only. They have to spend a good deal of time preparing their illusions or zombies; therefore, if they are attacked before they've done this, they're pretty much screwed. Shamans on the other hand can be caught totally off their guard and turn around and mess up someone's day real quick.
I actually think that druids are pretty buff, but I've never actually played one so that is just an opinion without much to back it up. I've seen some pretty hardcore ones though, so I'm assuming they're not too crappy. |
