[Of Necromancers] At level 50, Seringale shopkeepers are the way to go. Their damage range is maim - *** on unsanc. They dirt, disarm and shield disarm, but no lags. If you know what you are doing, you can take a shopkeeper solo, without resting. |
That's pretty awesome, although I'm assuming when you say "solo", your discounting other players, not charmies. |

You have obviously never played a level 50 healer in Shadar. In my experience, ***'s all the way through. But yeah, a storm alone is deadly, and with the healer defenses and such, played right, they make a damned good tank. Especially with a Knight stallion. |

Divine ret works against evils.. but then where's the protective shield, and if there's no protective shield.. then healer is dead. Also.. divine ret does next to nothing against neutral mbs. My choice - Stone giant warlord. |

any giant berserker warlord. I've soloed almost every mob I can think of with hrash (including jotun which is a BITCH). |

Illusionists are clearly the best tank. They don't care if their charmies die, since they can get new ones easily. They do craploads of damage with the right dups, they have blur which is nice. I've soloed just about every non swinging ubermob, including vlad. |

If you add time* to one of the requirements for best race/class tank then I'd have to go with duergar shaman. They have all the defensive spells you need, are able to blind, and cure themselves. Healers are good for soloing evils..but evils can solo anything.
*the time it takes to solo a mob. |

Add another vote for Shamans. Race doesn't seem to matter overmuch, but I prefer drow for the extra mana. |

3 for shaman. I would also agree about the drow with extra mana. |

A certain elf paladin with dope winter equipment Soloed Challenge arena (complete) and Evermore (Complete)
Overall:
storm healer
duergar/fire giant shaman
Pretty funny to see hard core mobs 'injure' a fire giant |

I was not aware of any counter bug, ever. As far as I know, counter has always, and still does, work on mobs up until quite a few wounds |

Since when does counter use mana?
Not that I've ever had a countering class, mind you |

It uses mana. the bug was if you have 0 mana the counter fails but they don't attack |

I like warriors. Let is be said though that any class in the proper hands can accomplish amazing things. In the time that I have played AR I have seen as Res said an elf paladin do Winter, A necro solo Order, Healers solo Vlad and Xanthak, and fire zerkers and warriors solo Jotun. Anything can be done with patience and proper preparation. That's the beauty of AR. |
