I don't have a lowbie with bad ass eq... perhaps if we were to go with your proposal of level restriction on high end eq it shouldn't be level 50, it should be level 42. Assuming it's the right solution to restrict, then level 42 is more logical because of the gauntlet of 42+ fighting 50s. Happens less these days than it used to, but still happens. Also because cabals often have wares they pass around and save for other members, dumb to not be able to help your cabal because they are pre 42 (50 in your scenario). Also buzz kills the idea of defeating someone that outranks and out gears you, since you wouldn't be able to keep that sweet loot.

Not saying it's the wrong solution but there is always a ripple affect.

How are things like that supposed to be addressed with code changes? Make the game a free-for-all after level 30 or something? There is already anti-vulching code

More interesting thing I see is there are very high level well-geared characters that aren't account-registered.

Why would someone not want to register and link there toon to an account?

Also I am not asking for restriction on ALL armor in the game. I am asking for restriction for END GAME loot from Winter, Redhorne, Battlezone, Shadun, Gasteride, Underworld, Dal Kadar and Tainted valley. RED areas require a well-equipped and experienced group. The loot should be the best and no one under level 50 should be able to use it.

Level-restricting gear was tried in the past and was one of the most unpopular things in this game's history. It's extremely unlikely that I'll ever support it.

If I'm level 45 and kill a turd 50 with that gear I want to use it. If a level 40 manages to kill me, he should be able to use it, too.

Yes because it was on a large scale. This is only specific equipment. Maybe 20/30 pieces total, out of all the equipment in the game.

Other than the excessive hoarding, no pk-ing, minimal interaction and hours per month type chars... what was the ruling from the Imms as to how it came to an end finally? Just curious really... Because you don't see Dav drop the delete-hammer on a dozen chars like that very often...

Also to the couple of people that played these toons, why? Just plain and simple, why? Why waste your time power-logging hours for characters you don't do shit with, just to keep all the rares out of circulation? Maybe there will be something other than spiked gardes and tower bracelets in now... Curious if you two/(maybe three) will speak up.

BTW, Thank you! Big props to Dav/Imms for doing this. These people have taken alot of fun out of the game in my opinion...Hoard all the good shit, and don't give anybody a chance to get it back. It ruins the game having a slew of chars about that do the opposite of contributing to the game. They deserved what they got, in my book.

It wasn't really hoarding, it was multi-charactering. Next time we see decked out lowbies, we will no longer assume they are innocent, but instead look aggressively for any cheating we missed. Feel free to post an inquiry if someone looks dressed too well for the level.

So as per what Davairus had mentioned, all these characters were denied due to multi-charactering. These characters belonged to me and my wife. We had a discussion after we were caught and decided to provide all of their names to Davairus to make things easier. Anyway, we wanted to make this post as an obituary of sorts for this journey we had together in AR.

I was an old player some 10 plus years ago who came back to play in Oct 2015. I was introduced to CMUDPro and with Olyn's plugin, I started remapping and coding - building layers upon layers of systems within my client and I was still improving the client up to the point when we were caught. Thinking back now, this coding part of my journey was the most enjoyable experience I had thus far, while at the same time I started one of my very first characters, Grimjark. A few months later, I managed to convince my girlfriend (now wife) to play this game with me.

We both started small with a warrior each, tried various race combinations, trained our skills, farmed our way up with basic rares, then switched to using ore-forged armor. Then as time goes by, people started deleting their characters and the rares started to appear on mobs. We then started an invoker each for gathering end-tier equipment for each another. Before we knew it, we had accumulated more rares than we can hold and that's when the multi started. Well, past crimes always catch up to us, this is a clear example of that.

Anyway, for the benefit of those who are curious and for any new players who wants to know what kind of end-tier equipment they can gather, we wanted to share the list of equipment that we had prior to getting denied. So here goes:

Wow...you had like everything. I was wondering it was kind of curious soon as I got Imm, my titanium set/weapons was on Grimjark so fast.

Speaking of Grimjark, I noticed you played alot with automatic triggers/code embedded in your pk. While obviously you had alot of success with it and became an accomplished Warlord dueling/fighting as a warrior this way it only gets you so far. I think this actually hindered you from going up (or back up? I don't know if you pked before) to the next level. Veteran opponents will be able to pick up on your triggers/coding behaviors and use it to your advantage while you yourself won't learn instinctively what to do at gambling situations to give you the best odd of winning.

That is some superstar status in hoarding though, lol. It's too bad you never really put most of it to good use, like someone said, uber eq is only uber when you own people with it. Otherwise it's just humming and glowing.

You lost your set to Sevaush who back then gave it to Fyrvielle in Legion. She had it ever since. Grimjark got his set by gathering it from the mobs. Anyway, one thing I had wanted to mention is that we both kinda got tired of pking. The code is always evolving. Having the triggers to reduce the human delay is better than having none at all. What restricted us was not the code but the geological limitation of 200ms ping from Singapore because no matter what we do, we can only be as fast as this delay allows us and this fact just sickens us. The difference can definitely be felt when we had 140ms in Taiwan. I cannot imagine having only 50ms.

At the end, we just became collectors. Our thinking had been - "if anyone wanted anything from my corpse, you need to first find me, then you need to kill me. Good luck with that"

Hate to say it but... I told you so... I missed maybe 2 of the toons on that list. I knew something was not right. I really hope you don't do this shit again.

Also is there going to be a major reboot so that all the equipment can pop back up, or is that no longer needed?

Yes, that is correct, I lost quite a few pieces to Sevaush.

Being a collector is totally fine...you just can't cheat to do it. Than you're not really a collector, you're just someone that typed in black sheep wall.

I appreciate you helping us out. Once we started to wade into the ip addresses and the logs to see how deep this went, I was shocked. At one point I was just staring at my computer screen dumbfounded. I can''t comprehend how you managed to keep that many characters active with rares without really interacting with other players, but I'm glad they're back in circulation.

I'd like to reiterate my idea that we implement a minimum # of days counter into the existing minimum # of hours counter for keeping rares. It won't solve the problem outright, but it should help curb instances of storage characters like this.

Beia, good job calling this guy out.
