does any one else think that holes or pits with no way out are an unnessesary part of the game? really..i mean come on people |

First of all, they require that you go prepared when you travel, or know how to ask in character for help... They are great game objects to base a little RP off of, and are great ways for shamans with summon to make a little money if they play at odd times. |

You forgot doors that you can misty potion through but are locked and cursed! As for their utility in the game, I don't think that they're too bad because there are ways out. As cleaning_ninja said, you should always carry a recall or two, and there's always making friendships by asking for help when you're stuck. My personal favorite, however, is to carry a charm of knowledge from the mud school - it hums when you're about to fall into a trap. Heck, even my level 50 character still has her charm of knowledge! |

Personally I always thought they were silly. Along with only having keys on one side of a door. |

they provide another dimension in pk fights when people use strategies to trap their enemies in these rooms. there are only a few in the entire realms so i don't see why its so bad, especially when lesser recalls are so cheap and anyone under lvl 10 can just type recall. |

And some are quests which slightly increase your ability to practice your skills, like Mahatma's Inescapable Trap. Which I fell into after killing an ethereal spider with my elf paladin. I didn't realize that it was a good mob. So I sat there, spellless, unable to recall, and being constantly awoken by Mahatma stabbing me. But it wasn't really that annoying or inconvenient. |
