I don't really think it's wrong, either.
I wouldn't mind it being imp'd either. It'd be nice to say 'She's a good little blood-fanged wolf', and when th etopic of whether it's a he or a she comes up, you won't have to come up with some b.s. answer that isn't REALLY true. Like in Timaran when you see polearm-wielding battlement guards, but they aren't REALLY wielding one.
You could probly just add it into the desc, too. 'She has blah blah blah', "He has blah blah blah'. |

Pet gender would lead to mud-furry-sex. This is not something we'd want. |
