OK, I, admittedly have a fear of PK'ing... Anyone know how to fix this? At one point, I had no fear, but then, I got beat down so many times, I now fear it.... Just the other day, I had two people weaker than me tha I could have killed. They were also both of the opposite alignment. I (at on epoint or another) had them far away from town and Justices, but I was too nervous to kill them.... Anyone able to help me? |

I'd say that the only "true" way to get over this "fear" is to jump in with guns blazing. You won't get over your apprehension until you get used to seeing lots of big RED WORDS with *** <<< === LOTS OF SYMBOLS === >>> *** next to them.
Also, if you think of it as a) just a game, and b) fun, that might help too. I think one of the biggest contributing factors to "PK stress" is the time factor involved in building up your character, with training and equipment-gathering taking so long. Just do your best to be prepared as much as possible for any given scenario (purple potions, recall potions, protection scrolls/potions, saves gear, hit/dam gear, assorted weapon types, vuln weapons, heal potions/scrolls, etc.) and dive in.
Good luck. |

the important thing to realize is that its not really fear that you are experiencing. i would describe it more as adrenaline. the doubts of whether its the perfect time, the uncertainty of what will happen, the question of whether you have the necessary skill.. these are all normal things to consider before initiating the attack.
the way to get over it is to not be afraid of dying. no one is more dangerous than the one who is not afraid of death. |
